hadros Recruitment is working with a leading Renewable Energy developer that is backed by one of the world's largest private equity funds, and they are looking for a Commercial Manager to join their rapidly growing team in the Philippines to originate, structure and negotitate long-term bilateral offtake agreements ensuring revenue certainty and bankability of the company's renewable energy portfolio. 

About the role
The role will focus on originating and negotiating PPAs with Distribution Utilities (DUs), Retail Electricity Suppliers (RES), and large corporate customers, while strategically participating in the DOE Green Energy Auction Program (GEAP) where commercially advantageous.
  
This position is critical in optimizing contracted revenue, managing WESM exposure, and supporting project financial close.
  
Key Responsibilities
  
1. Bilateral Offtake Origination & Execution (Primary Focus)
  • Lead origination and negotiation of bilateral PPAs with:
    • Distribution Utilities (DUs)
    • Retail Electricity Suppliers (RES)
    • Large corporate customers
  • Develop long-term contracting strategy to reduce merchant exposure.
  • Structure corporate and utility PPAs (physical, sleeved, hybrid structures).
  • Analyze WESM pricing trends and integrate into PPA pricing strategy.
  • Structure pricing mechanisms (fixed, indexed, floor/cap, blended).
  • Address commercial risks including:
    • Curtailment
    • Change-in-law
    • Grid constraints
    • Force majeure
    • Volume risk
  • Ensure contracts meet lender bankability requirements.
  • Support ERC approval processes where required.
2. Commercial Strategy & Portfolio Optimization
  • Optimize contract tenors aligned with financing strategy.
  • Lead counterparty credit assessment and risk mitigation measures.
  • Maintain commercial risk register and contract summary matrices.
3. Green Energy Auction Program (GEAP) Participation (Secondary Focus)
  • Evaluate strategic participation in DOE Green Energy Auctions.
  • Support bid pricing strategy aligned with project return thresholds.
  • Coordinate preparation and submission of auction documentation.
  • Assess GEAP vs. bilateral opportunity economics.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Engineering, Economics, Law, or related field.
  • 6–10 years of experience in the Philippine power market.
  • Demonstrated experience negotiating bilateral PPAs with DUs, RES, or corporates.
  • Strong understanding of:
    • WESM market structure
    • ERC approval processes
    • DOE regulatory framework
    • GEAP framework
  • Experience supporting lender negotiations and financial close preferred.
